How are you preparing for the depression, if at all? I'm....?
I am preparing for the upcoming depression.
I am starting another veggie garden.
I plan on corn, tomatoes, beans, onions, lettuce, watermelons,
radishes, green beans, peanuts, basil, peas, carrots, cucumbers,
broccoli, and maybe some yams. So yes, a big garden.
How do I protect my garden from the "have-nots"?
Or maybe I should grow using dwc (deep water culture)
What are you doing for this upcoming hardship.
Saving? Taking money out of banks? Buying Gold and silver?
Guess I better get a 12 gauge then to protect my garden from "the grasshopper".

During the great depression, America was still predominantly agricultural. Now we’re predominantly urban. I live on a rare quadruple lot (2 acres) in a gentrified 1970’s suburb. I can grow most of what I’d need if I had to, and if it really got bad I could move back home to the family ranch in Montana. So I’m set for the short term. The sad thing is that none of my neighbors know anything about agriculture, and even if they did, they have no room to grow anything in their ultra modern three story, low maintenance yard less homes. If it all goes bad, I’m going to end up with plenty of sleepless nights sitting up with a shotgun keeping the neighbors out of the corn.
