Encourage my budgie to play?
What kind of toys are good for a young male English budgie?
I've only had him for two weeks, I didn't want to freak him out, so I only put in one toy, a rubbery rope with shells/mineral block stars/big beads and a little bell, he seemed really scared by it, so I took it out and put in a very basic swing. But he seems to really not like the swing, and I've only ever seen him put his foot on it once, never actually playing with it, and he stays on the opposite side of the cage 90% of the time.
I want to try new things for him, but I don't have the money to buy any more toys for him, especially if he wont like them, so suggestions for home made toys would be great.
Is he just scared of the new surroundings? Not into the toys I bought him?
